You Do Not Need Someone Else To Complete You
Yesterday I had a day of what I like to call “accelerated spiritual growth”. I experienced one of those moments that either becomes an opportunity for continued growth or a doorway to self-induced misery, depending on how you choose to perceive it. For the record I think I’m going to go with growth on this one.Just when I think that I have mastered a certain aspect of my own spiritual and emotional growth, I find myself being tested by the universe. I’ve often heard life referred to as a school in which every experience is a lesson. Like any good school, you keep repeating certain lessons until you master them. Read more

“We interrupt our normal programing for an important shoe related announcement”
This just in. I have discovered shoe heaven in the form of ShoeTube, an online community for women who love shoes. Yes people. ShoeTube! I must admit that upon my discovery I sat slackjawed for several minutes while I contemplated the sheer brilliance of a site all about shoes! Amazing.
ShoeTube’s slogan is Live life. Love Shoes. What more is there to say? Let the church say AMEN!
I’m working on developing a series of workshops for non-profits, helping them to understand how they can use Web 2.0 and social media tools to build community and further their missions. Because of this I’m elbow deep in research on social media an social networking communities. Shoetube demonstrates that you can build community around anything. Hmm… maybe I’ll use this as an example in my workshop
I know some of my readers (namely my big sister), stopped reading this post in the first paragraph and are already over at ShoeTube watching the Daily Shoe. So why not join her and head on over to Shoetube. In addition to the Daily Shoe, other features include Shop Til You Drop and Behind the Boot. There are blogs and a community section where you can chit chat about shoes to your hearts delight. Finally don’t miss the Donate section. Shoetube has partnered with Soles4Souls, a fantastic non-profit whose mission is to to impact as many lives as possible with the gift of shoes. A very worthy cause. Take a moment to look at the great suggestions for ways in which you can get involved with Soles4Souls’ work.
In the meantime, Live Life and Love your shoes!
No commentsMy New Gig
I have a new gig as a book reviewer on Craig Harper’s site. I became a regular reader of Craig’s blog several months ago, and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for some real world motivation and inspiration served up with a healthy dollop of humor.
I responded to Craig’s invitation to his readers asking for volunteers to serve as book reviewers this year. So, along with 7 other people I will be writing a monthly review. There are very few things I love more than reading, so sharing my take on some of the books I read seems like a great way to enrich my reading experience.
My first review – of Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert – is up on Craig’s site now. You can check it out here. I’m really looking forward to reading all the other reviews, and I’m sure that I’ll discover some books I haven’t read yet. The first review was of a book that I have not read, The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. Needless to say I will be picking that up.
Happy reading!
No commentsThe Sublime Passage is back
TFor reasons that I won’t go into, I “lost” the Sublime Passage. By lost I mean it was completely deleted! It was my fault, but not to worry, it’s back, and better than before. Complete with a new look and a new attitude.
Surprisingly, I was really calm about the loss and I chose to see it as an opportunity to create an even better version of the blog. Besides which, its NOT killer bees people!
I do have some of last years posts backed up and at some point I may restore those, for right now however, there will all new musings.
There are lots of changes that will be coming for me this year. Stay tuned for details in the weeks and months to come!
It’s clear to me that this will be a year of great change and growth for so many of us. Already, I see so many people around me who are responding to a new energy and moving their lives forwards and upwards in amazing and truly exciting ways.
There is much to look forward to!
much love
